From November 2018 to April 2022, I served as the first in-house Graphic Designer for many brands under the TAL Holdings family, including Tum-A-Lum Lumber, Marson and Marson Lumber, Browne’s Home Center & Garden Center, Gerretsen Building Supply, Lake Chelan Building Supply, Mount Vernon Building Supply, and Badger Building Centers, in addition to creating extra base logo options for future acquisitions.
“TAL Holdings LLC is a family-owned company of lumberyards in the Pacific Northwest that traces its family roots to the founder of Tum-A-Lum Lumber Company. Today, TAL Holdings LLC and its divisions still adhere to the founding principles of the original Tum-A-Lum Lumber Company. The premise for starting Tum-A-Lum Lumber in 1906 still remains today in TAL Holdings’ mission statement: We help build better communities.“

FEATURED PROJECT: UPDATED BRAND GUIDELINES BOOKLET FOR TAL HOLDINGS LLC
In early 2020, I was asked to update and redesign the Brand Guidelines for TAL Holdings LLC, which is also used for all the the design materials for Tum-A-Lum Lumber, Marson and Marson Lumber, Browne’s Home Center, Gerretsen Building Supply, Lake Chelan Building Supply, and any future acquisitions.
Starting out with a basic version created in 2018, I worked with the Marketing Director (Natalia Dittmer) and Project Manager (Michael Nealis) to create a more cohesive and organized set of brand standards, covering topics such as Logos, Brand Elements, Business Collateral, and Terms and Usage.

FEATURED PROJECT: EMPLOYEE ANNIVERSARY SOCIAL GRAPHICS
TAL Holdings has celebrated the Work Anniversary Milestones of their employees at various store locations for many years, but as social media became more active, it was decided that social graphics would be added to the award package in order to bring more community involvement and help celebrate these employee’s hard work more broadly.
These graphics are used on social media such as Facebook and Instagram, as well as in the monthly emails that go out to all employees. Below are just a few examples of the people celebrated and appreciated for all of their hard work over the years.

BELOW: In July of 2021 I was asked to make a sign to be printed in store to place near the clock in point to remind employees to take the survey for what they’d like in the next insurance offerings. I designed the above 8.5x11in sign with a QR Code to take people to the survey, and created it based off the header for the Health and Wellness Emails which are sent out monthly to all employees.
